Agent Highways Maintenance

About the role
Known internally within our Living Places Business as a Pre-Construction Manager, Balfour Beatty have a unique opportunity for an individual who can offer extensive operational experience within the highways maintenance sector, combined with guidance of the deign team during Early Contractor Involvement ( ECI) works.

Based in Southampton working on the City's public realm assets, it is anticipated that you will or will have been an Agent or in a similar capacity together with proven experience of working with design/engineering teams to develop workable solutions , ideally during an ECI phase.

What you'll be doing
As a Pre Construction Manager, you will be responsible for:

• The technical compliance of projects delivered by the team
• Ensuring efficient and effective performance of the team to enable the team to meet performance targets.
• Ensuring the Team are clear on expectations and standards of performance required.
• Taking responsibility for the cost effective design and ECI for schemes delivered by the Team.
• Effective liaison between design and operational teams.

Who we're looking for
You will:

• Have relevant experience, ideally with a civil engineering qualification and practical ability in AutoCAD
• Have project management skills and capability; budget management and time management
• Be a team player and focussed on delivering packages of work to cost, time and scope. Anticipating problems and develop solutions from an understanding of the concepts and principles involved
