Design Manager Lineside Civil Engineering

About the role
Balfour Beatty Rail is currently seeking a Design Manager Lineside Civil Engineer in our Plant Business Unit. The role will be based in our New Cross Gate Depot.

What you'll be doing

As a Design Manager Line-side Civil Engineer you will:

• Produce written scope documents for tendering and awarding work
• Manage design interfaces with relevant interfacing disciplines (eg track, signalling, ETE)
• Monitor progress of design delivery, manage change and resolve issues
• Keep control of costs and encourage cost effective solutions
• Ensure design risk assessments are carried out and residual risk is transferred

Who we're looking for
You will have:

• Knowledge and experience of rail industry civil engineering
• Previous experience of the IDC / IDR process
• Experience of temporary work designs
• An understanding of electronic document management systems and their importance
• A membership of a professional body
