Nursery Assistant - Peterborough Regional College

This role is for hourly paid Nursery Assistants to work at our on-site Nursery. Applicants will be required to cover at short notice as and when needed, providing quality childcare and general support in the day to day running of the Nursery.

We aim to provide a happy, caring atmosphere within a stimulating, safe and secure environment which will enhance the development and education of all children, whilst working within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all.

The successful candidates will require previous experience of working with children. This experience will include assisting with planning a programme of activities which are suitable for the ages of 3 months - 5 years, working in line with guidelines for the implementation of the EYFS curriculum. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate an understanding that each child is an individual and have an understanding of child development.

Assistants will be required to demonstrate the importance of developing a positive relationship with parents/carers and other staff. You must also have experience and understanding in health, safety and cleanliness throughout the Nursery. Having some knowledge of child safeguarding is desirable, however a level 2 qualifications in English and Maths is essential.
