Road Rail Fitter

About the role
Balfour Beatty has exciting opportunities for Road Rail Fitters to join our team based in Hither Green.

In this role you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and preparation of equipment for hire, as directed by the Foreman Fitter.

What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will;

• Ensure a clear understanding of rules, regulations and standards.
• Ensure that a safe system of work is carried out at all times and protect the health and safety of self and others.
• Maintain regular contact with the customer whilst in the field ensuring feedback on service quality and updating any relevant individuals of progress or problems.
• Ensure problems are followed up and resolved effectively.
• Ensure regular communications with the Foreman Fitter regarding performance, coverage and objectives.
• Ensure smooth flow and control of paperwork for processing.
• Ensure best value practices are obtained in the procurement of goods and services.
• Provide feedback on all safety issues to the Foreman Fitter as required.
• Comply with all relevant Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with all statutory regulations and Company procedures.

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role you will;

• Be a time served engineer.
• Have a thorough knowledge of and experience in the Rail Industry, RMMM and RRV operations standards and specifications.
• Have a Minimum 2 years' experience in the Rail Industry.
