Farrer Barnes are currently working with a rapidly growing manufacturing company in Mid Kent who are looking for a commercially focused Manufacturing Cost Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that has impressive growth plans and a role that has good exposure as it reports directly to the Finance Director.
The key tasks will include;
- Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs and analysing variances
- Assisting with the preparation of the management accounts
- Provide an in depth analysis of monthly results including production variances
- Preparing cost models incorporating volume fluctuations and changes to the manufacturing and packaging strategies
- Identifying cost drivers and initiate cost reduction opportunities
- Provide support with the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure the appropriate valuation of inventory and cost of goods sold, including labour and overhead into standard costs
- Record and analyse inventory levels and generate consignment reports to external customers in an accurate and timely manner
- Lead the weekly and annual inventory counts from a financial perspective and liaise with the warehouse on appropriate processes and controls
- Document all accounting processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and the group control matrix
- Develop the SAP ERP system to achieve the outputs as required for all stakeholders
Skills Experience;
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
- SAP experience would be advantageous
- Strong IT skills including excel
