Due to ongoing growth, our client is now looking for a Transport Manager to join their Management Team, working night shifts.

Your Role: 

As the Transport Manager, you will oversee a fleet of 30 vans and lorries, including services, inspections and maintenance.
 
You will ensure that you and your team adhere to the company cultures, values and policies of safe working and Health and Safety.

Reporting into the MD, you will:  

- Manage a team of 30 Drivers and one member of office staff
- Quoting customers on UK and European dedicated vehicles, planning vehicles, negotiating with sub-contractors 
- Liaising with customers and solve problems
- Analysis of vehicle utlisation,
- Plan and organise vehicle availability 
- Be responsible for Driver recruitment, inductions, appraisals and disciplinary meetings 
- Unload and reload vehicles 
- Perform fuel card analysis 
- Proactively source and maintain fleet suppliers 
- Identify and develop ways to improve existing operations 
- Maintain warehouse and storage contracts 
- Responsible of the management of the site
- KPI analysis

About You: 

Our client is looking for a dynamic, forward thinking logistic professional that thrives on a challenge in a fast-paced environment.

To be considered, you will need: 

- Previous experience in a distribution or logistics environment 
- Experience in managing Vosa compliance
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills 
- To be calm under pressure 
- The ability to effectively multi task and priorities conflicting tasks 
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven track record in motivating and leading a team

Previous experience in a corporate environment would be beneficial, as would a CPC in national and international haulage, however a CPC isn’t essential. 

Other companies may call this role Logistics Manager, Transport Manager, Transport Operations Manager, Logistics Operations Manager, Operations Manager or Distributions Manager. 

Please note, this is a full time role, working 19:00 – 7:00, Monday – Thursday.
