Production Operator – Blown Film / Mesh Department
Liverpool, Merseyside
Up to £25,000 Depending on Experience Plus Discretionary Bonus, Pension, Free Parking, Overtime, 20 Days’ Holiday
Established and constantly growing, our client is a leading plastics processor. They are currently looking for a Production Operator to join their Blow Film / Mesh Department.
If you’re a hands-on manufacturing professional from a blown film, printing or plastics background, this is a superb opportunity to take on a fresh, new challenge.
Our client fosters a rewarding environment where employees’ efforts are celebrated and provides a variety of training opportunities to ensure that staff are able to reach their full potential.
As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of plastics processing activities to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our client’s plant.
In this role, you will focus on safety, health and environmental aspects, quality processes and production activities.
You’ll conduct blown film and mesh processing and its associated activities, ensuring that you work to the highest standards in regards to health and safety, quality, housekeeping and production.
Your role will involve:
- Maintaining awareness of safety devices and safety procedures
- Completing near miss and accident reports, risk assessments and housekeeping activities
- Undertaking hourly check sheets and impact and quality tests
- Checking the standards of products and assisting managers with associated paperwork
- Running production lines, overseeing machines and conducting handovers
- Supporting engineering requests and handovers
To be considered, you must have at least two years’ hands-on experience of working in a blown film, printing or plastics manufacturing environment, which ideally included setting up run parameters.
As a Production Operator, you must have good organisational skills, the ability to work independently and a team player mentality.
Previous QA experience, including measuring and testing plastic sheets and profiles, would be beneficial to your application, as would a good understanding of machine mechanics and settings. A RTITB FLT licence would also be advantageous, as would First Aid At Work training.
Plastic processing experience gained within a plastic products company would be equally favourable, as would experience of blending, setting up machines, inline quality work, filling in and controlling paperwork.
Experience of working in a continuous process manufacturing environment within the chemical, printing or plastics industry would also be a plus, as would downstream film equipment including treaters, winding, printing and slitting operations.
Please note, the working hours for this role are 12 hour shift patterns, working two days, two nights, then four days off.
