South Devon College is an outstanding Further and Higher Education college with top success rates, located in Torbay, which is part of the beautiful English Riviera on the South Devon coast. Our state of the art campus offers local access to world class facilities. We are an ambitious College, ambitious for our learners, our staff and the community we serve. We measure our performance by the success of our learners.

Our fresh vibrant culture provides 12,000 learners each year with a wide provision ranging from Foundation to University Learning, contributing an overall £30 million College expenditure to the local economy.

We are currently recruiting for a Trainer Facilitator Assessor in Security & Events Safety to join our team, here at South Devon College. You will required to instruct/facilitate learning for students enrolled on a range of programmes as assigned by the Section Head and Programme Co-Ordinator, as well as conducting assessments for Security & Events Safety related training and skills, under guidance and support from course lecturing staff. This will include short SIA course, Security programmes and Apprenticeships including other Security and Stewarding related programmes, to include Level 3 and NVQ assessing.

The successful candidate will need to hold a SIA Security Licence and if not already held will need to attain a Teaching qualification and Assessor qualifications within the College’s specified timescale. We are looking for someone who has current/recent experience of the Security and/or Event Safety industry. You will need to have relevant subject knowledge covering a range of Security and/or Event Safety roles with the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.

Due to the remoteness of some of the locations and lack of public transport, you will need to hold a full current driving licence with access to a car or other appropriate form of transport, in order to be successful in this post.

Benefits as follows: pro rata of 27 days Holiday, up to 5 College closure days, Paid Bank Holidays, Membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme, Life Assurance (if member of pension scheme) On Site Nursery (Mama Bears), Nursery Voucher Scheme, Fitness Suite Facilities, Staff Discounts (Inspirations – Hair & Beauty, NUS Student Cards), Corporate Membership with Torbay Leisure Centre and Access to Automotive Department (Small Car Repairs & Pre MOT Testing at low costs), Discounted Stagecoach Bus Pass and many others.
