We Invest, We Achieve, and We are Camden.

Camden Council has changed the way it delivers children's social work with the introduction of the Camden Model of Social Work.

We believe that the needs of our children and families can be best met through social workers who are undertaking direct work in partnership with them to achieve change.

We are training all our social workers in a systemic framework and introducing small practice groups with therapeutic input. With an emphasis on strong multi-agency working and playing a key part in the Council's programme to create more resilient families in the Borough.

And with the right people this has been a recipe for success!!!

Social Workers in the Camden Model of Social Work can expect:

• Regular monitoring of caseloads ensuring workers have enough time for direct work for families

• A bespoke systemic training programme delivered by the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust.

• Group reflective supervision and individual supervision sessions.

• Wide range of internal professional development opportunities and excellent training provision to ensure continuous practice development annum.

We focus on developing individual skills set to undertake the full range of the role across the service, we have excellent community resources and multi-agency working arrangements which ensure the holistic needs of children and their families are met.

As you develop within the service, further opportunities will arise and you will have the chance to broaden your skills and experience and progress in your chosen career path.

We are looking for social workers who think out of the box, that go that extra mile, that believe in providing a high quality service that ensures that the child is at the heart of everything we do. Essentially you will possess a diploma in social work or equivalent, have a valid HCPC registration, ideally with a minimum two years post qualifying experience but we are in a position to offer AYSE scheme placements for newly qualified. You will demonstrate a sound knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children, particularly the Children Act 1989 and all legislation related to Children in Need.

You must demonstrate that you can exhibit knowledge and understanding of the pressures faced by families with children living in socially deprived neighbourhoods, the issues faced by/needs of disadvantaged families with children.

If you have the drive and the commitment we are looking for, we would love to hear from you.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
