I'm working on behalf of an established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor based in Cardiff.
With a growing network of offices and excellent pipeline of projects, they are now in a position to employ an Intermediate-level Mechanical Engineer.

- To work as part of a team to deliver projects within time, quality and budget
- To work with Clients to produce a relationship that results in repeat business

- Deliver projects safely, within budget, on time and to the required quality level
- Profitable Contracts and sound cash flow performance

- SHE Delivery on all project works

Responsibilities and Duties
- To take full technical, commercial and operational responsibility for the successful and profitable execution of contracts
- To assist the Project Manager in ensuring reliable and contractual performance in the day to day implementation of contracts
- To provide full and effective support for site teams by ensuring efficient co-ordination/management of supply chain
- To ensure accurate and prompt submission of invoices and cost plans in order to provide reliable forecasts for financial accounting and other documentation
- To monitor and control all costs associated with each contract and provide information and feedback to Senior Management
- To ensure the works are carried out in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation
- Sequence and programme works
- Have knowledge of programme types
- Production of procurement schedules
- Production of pre-construction programmes, construction programmes, commissioning programmes and have an understanding of interfaces and co-ordination with other disciplines and contractors
- Be capable of managing sub-contractors
- Production of Invitations to Tender and evaluation of returned tenders
- Ability to Estimate full D&B / Pre designed projects up to GBP3m
- Establishing work scope, specifications, programmes and cost control of sub-contracted works
- Understanding of specifications and drawings
- Understanding of the contract and contract conditions and obligations Job Description
- Work with other disciplines, Clients, sub-contractors and vendors to produce a successful programme
- Have an understanding of and be able to contribute to Total Risk Management
- Ability to survey and report on existing installations
- Have an understanding of current Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Legislative Requirements
- Ability to check drawings for accuracy and buildability
- Seek advice from specialists as required
- Maintain manual or computerised schedules as required
- Undertake site and works visits as required by the execution of his / her duties
- Production of risk assessments and methods of work to comply with the Health and Safety requirements and legislation
- Control and monitor the production of site labour
- When required, assist in the preparation of tenders for new works
- Take off and requisition materials in a timely manner
- Work with the Quantity Surveyor to produce the costs on any variations
- Monitor and report on programme and progress
- Report on all aspects of the contract under his / her control

Key Experience:
Essential:
-At least 3 years post technical apprenticeship experience preferably gained within a building services environment.
Desirable:
- Currently or have worked on projects over GBP1m
- Delivered Success full projects both programme & commercial
- Estimate Projects
- Programme & Sequence of Electrical Services
