On Line People Limited are currently looking for a Senior Instrument Designer to work for one of our clients based in Immingham. This is a contract position working full time hours Monday to Friday. Initial contract duration is approximately 6 months, however dependent on workload this may be reviewed and extended.
Duties:
- Instrument drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs.
- Project controls, cost estimates, quantity take-offs and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
- Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgement in evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
Functions:
- Requires broad knowledge of precedents in the speciality area and a solid knowledge of principles and practises related to technical areas.
- Requires broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials, and the economics involved.
- Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects.
- Analyse reports, maps, drawings, tests and other data to plan and design work.
- Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
- Assemble bid, approval and construction issue drawing packages.
- Use engineering and design software to complete assigned work.
- Direct and/or participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
Requirements:
- Preferable Oil & Gas / Petrochemical experience.
- Experienced the use of & application of IEC 61508/11.
- Preferable certification in functional safety.
- Experience in the validation of SIF's.
- Reliability modelling of instrument loops.
- Use of AutoCAD
