Potential growth in the office has created a role, responsible for both Win work and Deliver work activities for the Infrastructure team. As the Head of Rail, you will play a significant role in the Central region. You will demonstrate the ability to have a clear focus and approach to running an efficient team, collaborating with other parts of the business to win work locally in the region and nationally, as well as ensuring exemplar delivery of profitable projects with the appropriate level of governance and by using the right skills and resources.

This role, which reports into the Office Director, has prime responsibility for managing profitable growth, working closely with the Head of Industry (Central Region) to identify and secure new work from our existing relationships and frameworks, whilst supporting regional and national strategies to create business with new clients. You will support the development of a clear business plan for the transport sector in Yorkshire, ensure an appropriate focus on client account management and build a pipeline of work; maintaining productivity and budget delivery in line with the forecast.



Qualifications / Requirements
• Professionally qualified within your discipline area (quantity surveying, building surveying project management or other related construction discipline).
• Demonstrable experience of working within the relevant sectors.
• Proven management and leadership experience within a professional organisation with the ability to inspire an experienced and professional team.
• Strong commercial and financial focus ensuring full compliance with governance.
• Management of a significant profit and loss account.
• Results orientated.
• Knowledge of commercial processes and contractual issues.
• Proactive decision maker, able to reach decisions at speed understanding all implications.
• Proactive approach to managing people by understanding key motivators for performance.
• Skilled at developing individuals to their maximum potential.
• A confident and articulate communicator.
• A strong, collaborative approach to working across multiple offices and business units, both locally and nationally.
• Self-motivated and capable of operating in an environment of empowerment
• Strong experience in leading successful teams, engaging staff at all levels.
• Experience of driving forward Key Account Management plans.
• In-depth knowledge of the local marketplace with strong links with clients and relevant organisational bodies.
• Excellent relationship management skills both internally and externally and across all levels.
• Knowledge of the market with the ability to build new client relationships and a drive to establish new client networks.

Responsibilities
This role will encompass but not be limited to the following:
• Lead the development of the Transport team as part of the regional and national growth strategy.
• Communicate the strategy and direction of the business to all stakeholders.
• Deal with emerging risks or issues quickly to protect the commercial interest of the business.
• Deliver sustained, profitable growth in our chosen markets.
• Maximise productivity and assure ongoing workload. through robust Business Planning.
• Lead the local marketing and communications for the Transport sector, providing direction and insight.
• Manage the preparation and implementation of budgets and forecasts.
• Implement control and management through the effective analysis of monthly management accounting data.
• Grow the reputation and profile of the team regionally to enhance its position as the first-choice consultant in the relevant markets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal obligations and corporate systems and processes.
• Ensure the health and wellbeing of all employees within the team.
• Management of resources and workload planning.
• Staff recruitment, retention and development, ensuring that staff reach their performance potential.
