1st Line Support Engineer required to join a progressive and growing company from their head office based in the Totton area, on the outskirts of Southampton. The role a 1st Line Support Engineer will involve support my clients growing internal infrastructure but also the infrastructure of their clients and supporting their hardware / software products. You will be providing support via telephone, email, remote and face-to-face onsite support where required. Over time you will be supporting Windows Desktop systems (Windows, 7, 8 & 10), some Microsoft based infrastructure (Server 2008 & 2012), Exchange, Office 365, Azure and general networking. The correct candidate for the 1st Line Support Engineer position will preferably have some commercial experience working within an IT support role or and or have some industry recognised qualification. You will have an in-depth knowledge of Windows desktop systems (7, 8 & 10) and if possible any experience of Server systems (Server 2008, 2012) including Active Directory and Exchange. Good experience of networking along with root cause analysis of escalated issues would also be nice but isn't required. There is some travel required for the role so you must be willing to do so where required. The role is client facing as well so your communication skills must be very strong.
