Job Title: Training & Development Officer

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

Salary: £25-28k FTE (c£17,000 for 22.5 hrs) depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Part – Time (20 to 25 hours per week)

Our Client is the largest specialty distributor and manufacturer of branded products and solutions for rehabilitation, recovery and sports medicine in the world.

The Role:

They are now looking for a talented Training Officer to co-ordinate their training and development activity, ensuring it aligns to the organisation’s needs.

You will implement and lead a process for identifying and prioritising training / development needs across the organisation, in partnership with department managers and oversee the full training / development cycle. There will be some requirement to design and / or deliver training, develop training resources including our e-learning capability and maximise a return on our apprentice levy.

Job Purpose: 

Co-ordinating training and development activity, ensuring it aligns to the organisation’s needs. 

Job Accountabilities:

  • Implement a pragmatic process for identifying and prioritising training / development needs across the organisation, in consultation with department managers
  • Oversee the full training / development cycle including evaluation of training
  • Advise managers on training and development activity
  • Overall co-ordination of the performance review process 
  • Where appropriate, design and / or deliver training and development interventions, including the development of training resources 
  • Oversee and develop e-learning solutions
  • Identify apprentice opportunities and lead the apprentice process, maximising funding available
  • Ensure high standards of record keeping 
  • As a member of the HR team, handle enquiries as appropriate 

The Candidate:

  • They are looking for someone who understands the training / development cycle from training needs analysis, design and delivery through to evaluation. 
  • You will be comfortable working with people at all levels, with experience of supporting the training needs of others.
  • You will be a strong communicator able to advise and persuade.
  • You will be competent in a range of IT software such as MS office.
  • A practical approach and basic understanding of e-learning, combined with good organisational skills are also a must. 
  • A recognised qualification in Training / CIPD would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of the training / development cycle from identification of training needs through to review of training and development activity
