This excellent FIA and NSI accredited fire and security installer specialise in providing comprehensive fire systems services and solutions. They focus on working with customers to find the right solution for their fire alarm or security systems whether new or existing, taking full consideration of all requirements and achieving a quality solution within budget.
Due to company expansion the client are seeking an estimator to support new business development within the blue chip/high-end market sectors. The role will be to support and deliver designs, proposals and tenders for generally medium to large supply & commission, and supply, install and commission Fire Alarm and Detection System Projects however will also cover CCTV and Access Control systems. The role is also to assist in establishing key alliances with large contractors, Facilities Management Companies and Consultants/Specifiers.
Responsibilities include:
To support new fire alarm / security business/projects and opportunities within existing and new key market sectors as above
Executing and managing own Bids and Tenders, though significant office and technical support will be available in support of design and tender sales works.
Tender proposals will range from GBP2k up to GBP1m.
Tenders and designs will be for Supply and Commission only contracts through to Design, Supply, Install and Commission.
General assistance and input in national sales campaign on Fire Maintenance & Fire / security system upgrade projects.
Becoming involved in the marketing initiatives for the sales strategy.
Managing and undertaking the initial design and estimation at the pre-Quotes/Tender stage and then completing the PQQ/Tender responses as required, though significant office and technical support will be available in support of these works.
Support to other departments in specific design works.
Planning and presenting sales solutions to customers/clients through quality proposals.
Key Skills/Experience required:
A background in fire/safety systems is a must.
An understanding of the standards and requirements for the design of fire safety systems is an advantage/requirement. A background in new business sales/estimating within a fire protection/detection environment would also be an advantage but would not necessarily exclude applicants with comparable skill sets.
Full understanding of BS5839 Pt.1 Fire Systems design and regulatory standards is a key part of the quality systems being offered.
Although significant support will be provided for design and estimating, a sound understanding of the process is important.
Proven experience of selling Maintenance/installation contracts/projects within the Fire industry is an advantage.
An understanding of tender requirements and Contractual awareness is an advantage.
