Job title: Production Operative & General Manufacturing Operative

Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

Salary: £18,000 + potential overtime + generous bonuses

Hours: Permanent, Full time - Occasional weekend work paid as overtime maybe required.

They continue to invest extensively in state of the art processing technology and in developing the workforce. The company is registered to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), BS EN ISO14001:2004 (Environmental) BS OHSAS 18001:2007 (Health and Safety) BS ISO 50001 Energy Management. The company mainly manufactures sheet lead and is a leading manufacturer for the building and construction industry.

They are currently recruiting two positions; Production Operative and General Manufacturing Operative.

Production Operative (Shift):

A Production Operative is required to join this leading supplier in rolled lead sheets, and flashings. The successful candidate will form part of the production team and following in-house training, operate automatic saw lines and have the potential to progress to operating rolling mills.

Hours of work are a 2 shift system 6 - 14/13 -21 alternate weeks. Occasional weekend work paid as overtime may be required. For this position a shift allowance of £2,800 per annum will be paid.

General Manufacturing Operative (Days):

This role will form part of the manufacturing team working in the production and refinery departments. In-house training will be provided to operate saw lines and to train in the relevant refining processes. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude to working flexibly.

The main contractual hours of work are 8 - 16 Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work paid as overtime may be required.

Key Requirements:

These are permanent positions, which would suit a reliable person to fit into our metals manufacturing operation. For both positions, a fork truck license would be advantageous, but not essential.

Applicants should be fit, have an aptitude for manual work and have previous experience of operating production machinery or working in a foundry or similar operation.

Applicants will have the ability to work on their own initiative and have a good attitude to teamwork as well as good health and safety awareness.
