Team Fostering is an ethical not for profit fostering agency with a strong reputation and track record for providing high quality fostering placements for looked after children. We are now looking to recruit an Education and Support Service Worker to provide specialist educational input and offer specialist educational support to children and young people.  The successful candidate will become part of a committed and dynamic education and support service working creatively and professionally with staff and carers to provide the best possible services for looked after children.

The Education and Support Service Team provides a number of support services for children, young people and foster carers.  This support ranges from support with education, helping young people prepare for independence, ensuring that children contribute towards how our services are run, developing and facilitating activities for children and their families, and providing targeted support where required.

As the ideal candidate you will have demonstrable experience of supporting the educational needs for looked after children and of the services available to support these.  You will also have an awareness of Personal Education Plans (PEP’s) as well as an understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s).  Candidates with skills and experience in teaching, classroom assistance, education provision and experience of supporting looked after children are encouraged to apply.

The post is based at our Papplewick Office; however, you will be required to work flexibly across the Yorkshire and East Midlands region.

For an informal chat about the post please contact Steve Elliff, Education and Support Service Manager (Yorkshire & East Midlands), on 0114 261 7762.
