As a Risk Manager at HS2 you will provide risk management services including the identification, management and control of risk within a HS2 Delivery Project or Programme as set out in HS2 risk management procedures.

About the role:
  • Provide risk (threats and opportunity) management activities to actively control risk and seek efficiencies.
  • Provide risk assessment services, including quantified cost and schedule risk assessments.
  • Maintain project risk registers and support risk management and mitigation activities, ensuring input from accountable managers and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Senior Risk Manager (Area).
  • Work closely with delivery, project controls, commercial and financial teams.
  • Collaborate with risk professionals in the wider HS2 organisation and supply chain.
  • Ensure the implementation of and compliance with risk management standards and guidance throughout the project life cycle.
  • Support the joint review and evaluation of risks with delivery teams, contractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain active links between risk management and other project management processes.
  • Provide specialist risk management support across the HS2 Project and Programme teams, as required.


About You:

Knowledge
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge of all aspects of project and programme risk management and techniques.
  • Knowledge of current project management and project control processes, particularly on major infrastructure and/or rail projects.

Skills
  • Experience of risk management progress tracking including implementation of risk mitigation actions for identified risks across projects.
  • Track record of building and managing working relationships with stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Proven ability to build complex cost and schedule risk models commensurate to maturity of projects and programmes.
  • Able to explain risk analysis tasks and results to non-specialists.
  • Proven ability to deliver outputs to tight deadlines in a highly pressured environment demonstrating flexibility, determination and resilience.
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously, motivating self and others.

Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in a project risk role within large-scale infrastructure projects/commercial construction projects.
