D&M Heritage is seeking a Publishing Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day project management of a variety of publications, including books and journals, calendars and brochures. The role involves managing accounts for a variety of clients, including universities, societies, historical organisations and individuals. You will be expected to manage a large number of projects at one time, creating production schedules, writing budgets and ensuring that projects are published on time and to budget. You will be responsible for managing every aspect of publications, including taking design briefs, checking typesetting, quality checking printed and digital proofs, arranging ISBNs and barcodes and invoicing work. You will use your in-depth publishing and print production knowledge to creatively solve production issues, liaise with clients and work closely with the in-house production team. Some light editorial work will be required, such as copy-editing, proofreading and indexing.

You will liaise with the Publisher to create and implement publishing and marketing strategies. You will be responsible for carrying out marketing activities in order to generate new publishing clients and contracts for the company. You will also carry out book marketing activities in order to sell books published by the company and its clients. This will involve writing press releases, contacting booksellers and the day-to-day management of two online bookshops.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar publishing role. You will possess outstanding literacy skills and will be highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure and manage a heavy workload. You will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to plan and manage schedules and budgets. You will have excellent commercial knowledge, with the marketing skills required to successfully sell books and publishing services.
