Are you an experienced 1st and 2nd Line IT Support Engineer with a background working in medium sized businesses in Central London?! If so then look no further! My client is looking for a "geek chic" IT Support Engineer to work with their senior IT support Engineer in supporting a team of 50 staff with all queries.
Our client is a leading ship-owning and management group with a diversified fleet of over 80 container vessels, bulk carriers, and chemical and product tankers. With over 40 years of industry expertise as a leading ship owner and operator, their fleets has moved millions of tonnes of cargo. They work globally with major first class organisations, from charterers to shipping professionals, regulatory authorities and governments.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, self-motivated, fast learner with can do attitude and a genuine interest in all aspects of IT Support.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support to all employees;
- Administer the help desk ticketing system and ensure the resolution of Incidents and Service Requests within SLA;
- Provide support to remote users via phone, e-mail and remote-control software;
- Configure and install desktops, laptops, printers, mobiles and tablets;
- Install and support hardware, operating systems, software applications and networks;
- Maintain the security, integrity, compliance and usability of our systems;
- Monitor systems and ensure reliability;
- Be able to own a task, through to completion or to follow an escalation process; and
- Provide out of hours' /weekend support as part of an on call rota.
Required Skills
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent;
- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications, Cisco and VMware technologies (Certifications will be considered a plus);
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and flexibility to work prolonged hours;
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics skills;
- Strong client orientation;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
