Supply Chain Quality Engineer - near Middlesbrough c. £40k + bens

Opportunity for a Quality Engineer to live and work in the North East, travel internationally for a global corporation, based on a greenfield new-build production facility

The Role

As Supply Chain Quality Engineer, you will support all aspects of a brand new production facility still in a vibrant and challenging "post start-up" phase. The role also offers the opportunity to travel within Europe (and Japan) as supplier performance / procurement support demands. Responsibilities include:

• developing quality effective systems with production / operations / manufacturing teams
• applying advanced Quality Planning Tools to develop robust inspection regimes
• resolving technical supplier product issues through Cause & Effects Analysis / 5-Why / 8D
• leading supplier failure investigation meetings / delivering presentations on Quality topics
• providing technical support to internal departments as a supplier quality specialist
• assist with development of suppliers in line with procurement & SQA activities
• support the achievement of Third Party Accreditation and certification to ISO 9001:200

Our client is an international corporation with activities spanning a wide variety of sectors including IT, Construction, Technology, Telecommunications, Industrial and Transport Solutions.

The Person

As Supply Chain Quality Engineer, you will have in depth knowledge / qualification (Quality or Engineering) of Quality Assurance Tools & Techniques, Audit Inspections, and a track record of practical application within an SQA Role, preferably gained in a Production / Engineering / Manufacturing / Assembly background. Vehicle / Automotive / Aerospace / Rail / Marine experience would be ideal, but not essential, along with:

• supplier system & process audit experience ( ISO 9000 )
• knowledge of APQP, QRQC, Kaizen, 6 Sigma etc.
• experience in leading team meetings on Quality / SQA issues
• able to communicate effectively with customers / stakeholders at all levels
