Gordano School is seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, a well-organised & enthusiastic individual to support a student with an identified physical disability and an Education, Health and Care plan. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of specialist SEND Student Support workers, to support a highly motivated young person to become more self-sufficient and independent as a learner and as a young adult. The role is a critical element in our support plan, which comprises of working closely with the young person to develop appropriate ICT skills and access to appropriate resources, which will enable independence and higher self-esteem as the student moves into Key Stage 4. It also includes support for life skills, social skills and personal care skills. All of this will be guided by the multi-professional team who support the young person. This role will have a central role in helping us assess how best to support the young person over the coming year.
Gordano School offers an excellent benefits package including contributory pension scheme, a comprehensive employee assistance programme and benefits (offering discounts on shopping), child care vouchers and on-site parking.
