This is a rare opportunity for a highly skilled digital connected systems architect to make their mark and join a winning team within a growing international market leader which has a significant programme of development planned for the digital connectivity of its products.

Our client is a manufacturer of a diverse range of products for use in the home environment for which the development of connected technology and services will form the basis of its digital capability and forward strategy for the next decade.

Working as part of the R&D and new product development teams and reporting directly into a senior level in the structure, the responsibilities of this role cover the formulation and definition of the global architecture and associated specification of the communications protocols, embedded software, cloud hosting and API’s that will give the new products the fullest capability and upgradeability to accommodate all anticipated trends and market requirements.

You will work within the established development programme standards and procedures and ensure compliance with relevant international regulations regarding security, safety and serviceability.  In particular you will be expected to develop and maintain productive working links with suppliers and specialist technology providers in order to assemble and maintain a distinctive and flexible mix of capability against future requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in software engineering and or computer science and will have built an impressive hands-on career to date in an advanced and recognised software systems engineering environment.

Specific areas of experience must include the development of application software and connected devices in a world-class company with extensive new product introduction and continuous improvement programmes built into the operating culture.

You will have both on-line and off-line expertise and a highly innovative mind-set. Sectors of specific interest to the client include smart meters, intelligent building systems, smart boilers, heating and lighting products, industrial, automotive and white goods connectivity.  The role is rare in that the scope for you to make an impact is very real and you will interface significantly with senior colleagues across the Group in product development and new product introduction.

This is an excellent time to be joining this highly successful market leader which is committed to success in this key area of development.

They would like to attract the best talent possible and their rewards package will reflect this.
