About Us:
Party Doctors Group is a one stop shop for all event requirements. We supply, install and plan most events in house and work with a collection of suppliers to deliver events throughout the south east of the UK. We also travel further afield for smaller bookings.
Most of our work is located in Kent, Surrey, London & Essex.
We are currently expanding our corporate sector hence the requirement of an AV technician.
Our main equipment stock includes:
- A large collection of marquee stock
- AV Equipment, Sound, Light & Visual
- Venue Draping and dressing
- Bars, Bar Equipment & Cellar Equipment
- Event Furniture & Soft Furnishings
- Décor & Linen
- Theming Items
- Temporary Structures
Job Summary:
We are seeking candidates with experience within the AV, sound and or lighting industry who are looking for a position that will further expand their experience within the events industry. Day to day work involves rigging of marquees and interiors however your primary role will be to install power, lighting, sound and AV equipment. We also work in venues where the same applies. There will be many occasions where you will need to man and operate equipment also.
The role requires someone that is tidy, organized, works at a consistent pace and has strong communication skills. You will also need to be able to think on your feet and make quick decisions with little hesitation.
You will work alongside a warehouse crew of 2 in down time and a core site crew of 6. You will be in charge of the lighting department and will be responsible with helping develop this area of the business in terms of stock selection, control and programming. You only require a basic level of DMX knowledge for this.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensuring excellent customer care and quality of service
- Rigging marquees and venue dressing
- Rigging and de rigging audio, lighting, visual equipment
- Serving customers
- Dealing with client requests on a face to face basis
- Setting up and packing down event equipment
The Position:
Normal working hours are 8am – 4:30pm 5 days a week however due to the nature of the business you may be asked to work additional hours where necessary. We do operate a time in lieu system in the quieter months.
There are also opportunities to work at events and learn other new skills such as cocktail bar tending, cooking, Djing, hosting, entertaining.
Experience / Key Points:
- Experience working in AV industry
- Knowledge and experience of audio, lighting and video equipment
- Excellent Customer Service & Communication Skills
- Self-Motivated with a positive attitude
- Confident and competent with electrical equipment
- UK Driving Licence (Preferable)
- Good Command of the English Language
- Physically fit
- Smart appearance
- Confident at driving in London
- Happy to drive Vans
- Over 21 years of age.

What you can expect from the position
- A minimum salary of £19,500 based on 40 hours a week and overtime paid per hour thereafter. Expected OTE of £21-£24k with basic overtime and event work in the seasonal periods.
