Salary: Fixed Point Salary (£42K)

Permanent – 35 hours per week

Housingrecruit.com is advertising for a Design & Technical Standards Manager on behalf of our client, a leading social housing provider based in Liverpool.

Our client is the largest registered provider of social housing, based solely in the North West of England. They are delivering a major transformation change programme, in the way in which they deliver services and how they are structured as a business.

As part of a continued focus on developing and shaping their customer services and supporting their wider operational teams, they are looking for a Design and Technical Standards Manager to join their Growth & Regeneration Team.  

Reporting to the Head of Development, you will develop and manage technical standards and specifications for the organisation’s development and regeneration programme, and ensure high-quality design standards are applied throughout the portfolio of new build and refurbished developments. 

You will develop technical property standards for new developments, including house types and specifications that are affordable, and match building and legislative standards. You will also review proposed development designs and schemes, to ensure they match the organisation’s requirements and propose amendments as required.  

This post will manage the property budgets, resources and priorities across the region ensuring effective and efficient use of resources, to deliver agreed performance targets and high customer satisfaction. You will drive culture change across the organisation, based on the eight behavioural characteristics.

To be successful, it is essential you have considerable building construction and technical design expertise. A demonstrable knowledge of building construction, contracts and contract management and associated legislation is also crucial. 

You will have capability of performing the role of 'principal designer' and knowledge of the requirements of CDM, as well as experience of leading and developing people and leading a team of Technical Officers.
