An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council’s Traffic Network team, as Senior Assistant Engineer. The role will be pivotal to the Council in delivering statutory duties which fall under key legislation and policy headings including the Network Management Duty, Traffic Management Act 2004, Road Traffic Regulation ACT 1984 and Local Transport Plan.

An essential aspect of the role will be to projet manage, implement and monitor traffic management project and systems to maintain and improve traffic movement including Traffic Signals and other traffic management systems as well as the checking of other’s proposals.

We are looking for somebody with excellent technical knowledge and professional experience of various traffic management legislation and regulations, experience of assessing planning applications proposals in relation to their traffic management impact on the highway network and experience in dealing with contractors, Members, the general public and other external stakeholders.

The post holders will have knowledge in the use of design and drawing software for the preparation of designs and procurement documentation and knowledge and delivery of Health and Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
