The Learning Support Assistant Person Specification
The new Learning Support Assistant will ideally have worked with Secondary aged children before and have an understanding of SEN requirements. The perfect candidate will be educated to degree level and have a strong academic record, able to exhibit the right attitude and drive that will allow them to excel in the teaching field. To be successful in this position patience, resilience and communication skills are key!

About the Learning Support Assistant role
This Learning Support Assistant role will require you to support particular students throughout their studies. The children that the SEN department support have a range of needs including ASD, ADHD and SEBD and the children that you are assigned to work with will be dependent on your previous experience. Your daily duties will be to support learners in class, keeping them on task and ensuring that the teaching material is accessible to them. The school will support you throughout you time with them and offer tailored training, should you show the eagerness and capacity to excel the school have the facility to offer you a School Direct teacher training package.
