An opportunity has arisen in Southern Water for a STC Process Operator to join the Regional Waste Water and Sludge recycling team on a permanent basis at Aylesford STC. This role offers an attractive package with a salary of up to up to GBP22,595 as well as 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension, health care and lifestyle benefits.

Your responsibilities will include:

• To carry out and report on a range of front line operational routine and reactive activities to time, to ensure the smooth operation of Wastewater treatment plant and the sludge recycling centre in line with quantity and quality, regulatory and business standards.
• To carry out front line maintenance and sampling tasks, on both the wastewater and recycling plants, recording data and operating the plant within specified parameters , to ensure odour plant is effectively operated with all work being to the required standard in line with best practice to improve the service given to our customers. These tasks will include:- unblocking pumps, screens and valves to ensure continuous plant operation.
• Fault finding and problem solving skills are essential to respond to breakdowns.
• Monitoring and recording of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met.
• Working with other Southern Water Directorates is important to assist with completion of CAPEX and OPEX schemes.


Please note that due to the nature of the this role, you will be prepared to work out doors in all weather conditions and also be prepared to work within the company's rota of a 7 day working week (38hrs, that does involve some weekend work) and participate on a stand by rota where out of normal hours emergency work is undertaken. Your working hours will fall between Monday to Sunday on a rotating shift pattern.

In order to be considered for this role you will have proven experience in similar or associated roles and you will need a Full UK Driving Licence as the role will involve driving between sites and also driving of southern water vehicles . The suitable candidate will also have GCSE's including Maths, English and Science.
