CMS are looking for an International Tax and Partnership Advisor to look after the tax affairs of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP ("CMNO LLP"). The role includes mainly ensuring tax compliance for the UK LLP, its partners and all its respective entities across the world. This role works closely with both the Partnership Tax and the Partnership Accounting functions and will involve ensuring the international offices within the CMNO LLP network are meeting their tax compliance obligations around the world. About the role General Responsibilities Looking after the firm's international tax affairs as well as assisting with the management of partner's tax affairs. Dealing with the firm's Customer Relationship Manager in relation to any risk assessments or enquiries. Working with the Accounts team with respect to accounts preparation and disclosures with potential tax impact as well as cash flow forecasting for tax payment outflows. International taxes Assisting Group Tax Manager with the maintenance and development of transfer pricing policies, including full documentation of the same. Calculation or transfer pricing adjustments for corporate subsidiaries as well as the central costs recharge calculation for CMNO LLP's entities. Liaising with Practice Group Finance Managers regarding double tax relief claims, returns and certificates. Reviewing systems for collating data on international tax payments for the purposes of supporting double tax relief claims and supporting figures included within the audited accounts. Providing an in-house international taxes audit function that reviews international tax returns and ensures compliance requirements are being met. Input may be invited into one-off projects/transactions on a worldwide basis e.g. the set-up of new international offices and partner secondments. Partnership taxes Assisting the Partnership Tax team with the tax reserving process and managing partner balances within the accounts. Assisting the Partnership Accountant with the management of partner capital and other capital balances. Providing the Partnership Tax team with taxable profit figures for inclusion in individual partner returns and for calculating the individual tax provisions Agreeing with Partnership Tax team and the auditors, the UK partners' tax annual provisions and the associated disclosures to be included in the LLP accounts Dealing with adhoc queries together with the Partnership Accountant to ensure that partner records are correctly recorded and maintained. Ensuring that any tax rules, relating to partners are followed and that relevant tax authorities are made aware of any changes to partnership arrangements that may affect the firm's tax position. Providing support to Of Counsel as required and dealing with any queries relating to partners. About you Detailed knowledge and experience of the UK tax system is required. Preferably Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Proficient in MS Office applications (minimum of Excel and Word) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate at all levels. Confident professional manner Strong analytical skills Demonstrates a high level of (legal and) technical knowledge and expertise; together with expanding peripheral knowledge and expertise. Grasps, retains and analyses complex information and concepts; great attention to detail. Ability to show initiative and good judgment, functioning well under pressure, able to switch gears on a moment's notice and ability to concentrate in an environment of multiple demands and distractions. Ability to handle multiple priorities and perform accurately under time pressures and constraints. Plans, organises and prioritises very well; works to given timeframes; responds promptly to administrative tasks. Identifies issues, risks and conflicts at an early stage, seeking assistance as necessary.
