Platts Animal Bedding is a market-leading UK manufacturer and supplier of quality animal bedding. Established for over 40 years, the family-owned business supplies thousands of farmers throughout the UK and Southern Ireland. So, what will the role of Telesales Apprentice entail?
Working as part of an experienced professional team, as a Telesales Apprentice you’ll be trained and supported to develop your knowledge and skills, enabling you to take a proactive and organised approach to supporting the team, with varied responsibilities and duties to include although not be limited to:
- Answering the phones in a professional and helpful manner, ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively
- Providing high standards of customer service, representing the company in a professional manner at all times
- Contacting existing and prospective customers to establish requirements and advise of promotions where appropriate, to generate repeat business
- Proactively identifying potential key accounts through fact finding
- Managing the CRM system effectively, ensuring the database remains up-to-date at all times
- Processing orders on Sage and maintaining accurate database records
- From time to time attending industry trade events, allowing you to meet customers and sell face-to-face
What will I need to be considered for this Telesales Apprentice vacancy?
- Passionate about developing a career in sales
- Positive and friendly attitude with excellent telephone manner
- Excellent listening skills, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Results driven and self-motivated, with a “can do” approach to work
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Timely and accurate typing and data entry skills
- Good standard of IT literacy
Previous office based customer service or sales experience would be advantageous, although not essential as full training will be provided.
IMPORTANT: Due to strict criteria set by the apprenticeship scheme, applicants must be aged 16-24 at the time of commencing studies in October 2017. Please note that employment for this role is available immediately.

Salary: Up to £16,000, level dependent on experience
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
