Location: Manchester

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience)

Job type: Permanent, Full time

Working Hours: 8:30 to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday and 8:30am to 5:00pm on a Friday

Our client is a top accredited Law firm that specialises in all areas of personal injury including public liability, occupier's liability, road traffic accidents, employer's liability, industrial disease, serious injuries and clinical negligence.

The Role:

Our client is currently looking to appoint an experienced IT Manager, who will have day to day responsibility for the delivery of consistent and effective IT services to internal users and be an important member of the general management team.

The main focus of the role will be the delivery and supervision of efficient and effective support services for all deployed technology solutions with a focus on internal user experience.

In addition to the day to day administration of systems there will be a requirement to manage longer term projects (along with budgets) in line with the continuing improvement of infrastructure.

Candidate's Requirements:

The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of strategy and the importance of keeping abreast of all developments to understand how they may replace or complement existing deployed technology.

There will also be some cross over with in house system developers, Operations and Facilities.

Essential

  • A detailed knowledge of Windows network administration
  • Understanding of Firewall security and routing configurations
  • Experience of backup solution management
  • Practical knowledge of VMWare and virtualised environments generally
  • Experience of mobile device management
  • Sound knowledge of physical infrastructure e. server and storage hardware, UPS, cabling, switches etc.
  • Working knowledge of IP telephony systems
  • Experience of working in a professional services environment
  • Detailed understanding of security risks and regulatory risks relating to technology e. GDPR
  • A strong focus on completion/resolution of projects/issues in line with agreed priorities
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are essential across a broad spectrum of ICT disciplines
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Must understand the concept of internal customers and ensure that internal stakeholders remain confident in the ability of the firm's systems to deliver

Desired

  • Microsoft or equivalent qualification in network and desktop administration
  • Experience of working to a framework of IT standards
  • Good understanding of internet/broadband connectivity, DNS management etc.
  • Experience of CRM or case management systems either in house or cloud based
  • Good knowledge of anti-virus/anti-malware/web filtering solutions
  • Experience of digital dictation solutions
  • Experience of managing IT budgets
  • Experience of working in the legal industry

A degree of flexibility is essential due to the extended operating hours of the firm.

Benefits:

  • 23 days holiday per annum, offices closed between Christmas and New Year. Rising by a day a year to a maximum of 26 days
