IT Support Engineer / Field Support / Engineer / 2nd Line / Server Support / Windows Support
IT Support Engineer with proven experience providing 1st / 2nd Line Support and a Full UK Driving License is needed for our client based in Winchester. They are a leading IT company delivering world class hosted IT and telecoms solutions as a one-stop shop for companies of all sizes, tailoring their services for their customers.
They are currently expanding and looking for an enthusiastic individual to join them as a 2nd Line Field Support Engineer. The appropriate candidate will need to be able to deal with a large user base and be able to multitask whilst working under pressure.
Responsibilities:
2nd line support to the business with regards to all IT related issues
Provide a point of escalation, on a technical level from 1st line - 2nd line support
Retain ownership of incidents until the issue is resolved
Liaising with and updating members of the first line team
Working within Service Level Agreement (SLA) guidelines
Technical Skills:
Proven commercial experience providing 1st / 2nd Line Support
Ability to diagnose problems experienced on desktop/portable machines and determine whether they are related to hardware, software, data, network issues etc
Skilled in Windows 7 & 10
Understanding of networking topologies - LAN and WAN
Good understanding of network technologies - VLANS, WINS/DHCP, DNS, firewall and port forwarding etc
Experience of cloud and VOIP technologies an advantage but full training will be given
Experience in network support - installation of Cat5, routers, switches, broadband and IP configuration, VoIP
Personal Attributes:
Full UK Driving License
Excellent interpersonal communication & customer service skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Exceptional problem solving skills
Ability to switch easily from one task to another
Ability to work alone and as part of a team, good time management essential
Solid understanding of the need for procedures, practices and standards within a service
Salary: £19,500 - £30,500
