Super Camps has a unique opportunity available for a HR & Recruitment Manager to join the team in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary.

Super Camps are the UK’s number one for childcare during the school holidays operating nationwide at over 70 venues. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR & Recruitment Manager is responsible for managing the Recruitment and Compliance teams, and for overseeing all aspects of Recruitment and HR for Super Camps.

What are the responsibilities of the HR & Recruitment Manager?

- Manage the Super Camps HR & Recruitment Team; including coaching, mentoring and developing the team.

- Representing the team in Management meetings and acting as a key link for the team by communicating with other departments.

- Working closely with the Operations Manager regarding staffing, product and the distribution of staff

- Lead on all matters relating to HR procedure for both Head Office and on-camp staff, including recruitment and vetting of internal appointments, performance management, procedural amendments, and grievance management, whilst ensuring company is in line with best practice and dealing with escalated issues

- Prepare all offer paperwork for successful applicants for Head Office roles, ensuring contracts are accurate and compliant. Additionally, preparing all responses for unsuccessful applicants.

- Manage all aspects of recruitment for Super Camps camp staff, within the assigned budgets and provide analysis of recruitment campaigns.

- During camp season, manage the daily sickness and absence levels across camps, replacing staff members to ensure Super Camps ratios are maintained.

- Manage the HR Recruitment Coordinators to ensure they are recruiting for each venue in line with groupings and oversee delivery of associated safer recruitment, compliance and weekly paperwork.

- Work with the Training Manager to monitor training attendance levels and training development

- Being part of the Designated Safeguarding team (Level 3 training provided)

- Monitor and continuously improve team engagement across the business.

- Oversee the camp staff payroll process, including authorising travel expenses , deductions and queries

- Work with Financial Controller to periodically review rates of pay, in line with national minimum wage

- Hold daily meetings with Management team during camp periods

- Hold seasonal reviews with the team and colleagues to reflect on the operating of camps, and continuously identifying areas of improvement.

- Ensure Super Camps remain in line with employment law and best practice

What do we look for in a HR & Recruitment Manager?

Essential:

- Professional HR qualification, e.g. CIPD membership or equivalent experience

- Previous management experience in a HR environment

- Previous experience managing high-volume or seasonal recruitment

- A thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and safer recruitment regulations

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- The ability to work to strict deadlines in fast-paced environment

- High IT literacy with strong skills in MS Office

Desirable:

- A recruitment qualification, or equivalent knowledge gained through experience

- Has a degree in relevant field, or a relevant childcare qualification

- Previous experience in the childcare industry

- An active interest in sporting, coaching and/or the childcare industry
