The right candidate will be a conscientious Maths graduate who has achieved well in your degree, having earned at least a second class degree and can commit themselves to the placement. You should be able to act as a subject expert for the pupils, using your exclusive knowledge from university to influence the classroom. You will arrive with firm plans to train as a teacher and an inspirational approach.
As a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant you will be working in the department that most closely correlates with your skills, experiences, and formal qualifications. The school are willing to offer you a place of their CPD programme, your chance to get to grips with fundamental teaching practices. You will be making the most of the support of a mentor who is focused on helping you begin the journey towards becoming an Outstanding teacher. In general, you will be assisting the teacher with smaller 'booster' groups and intervention 1:1s where specific points can be targeted and worked upon.
