At Select Norwich we are currently recruiting for a talented, proactive and ambitious Head Chef on behalf of our client, an expanding restaurant group who have recently acquired a new property in the Cambridge area.
With three successful eateries in Suffolk, one of which has acquired two rosettes for their restaurant, the family-owned group are now gradually expanding. They will be opening a new restaurant in the beginning of December, offering Rosette standard food in a Gastro Pub environment.
The client is looking for a Head Chef to lead the team in the new opening. They will need to hit the ground running in order to maintain the excellent reputation which the group has already developed.
The Role
* The Head Chef will lead their kitchen team, setting the high standard from day one and maintaining this throughout
* Skilfully cook with the finest quality ingredients in a high pressure environment
* Work within a medium sized brigade, ensuring the exceptionally high standards are consistently maintained
* The Head Chef must delegate, instruct and motivate the small kitchen team; constantly assess the performance of the kitchen
* Take a proactive role in training staff members, ensuring every element on the menu is prepared with attention to detail
* Using passion, flair and knowledge, the Head Chef will work with the Executive Chef in creating menus with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients, paying specific attention to current food trends in order to keep the menu interesting relevant
* As Head Chef, you will be fully responsible for the kitchen, ensuring that quality is never compromised
Experience and Skills required
* Must have previous Head Chef experience
* Rosette experience is essential

* Head Chef must be flexible and reliable
* Passionate with a demonstrable interest in fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
* Creative and innovative thinker
* Ambitious and determined
Salary and Benefits
* Salary of GBP33,000-36,000 depending on experience
