Finance Assistant

Do you have experience of working in a varied finance assistant level role? Are you someone who enjoys supporting the smooth running of purchase and sales ledgers? Do you aspire to work for a purposeful, sustainable and growing ethical brand? We are looking for a super accurate Finance Assistant to join our small friendly team at Pukka Herbs.

Based in our Bristol head office, our Finance Assistant role is a fixed term contract of up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. We offer a competitive salary of £18,000 to £21,000 pa depending on your experience and skills, alongside a benefits package that is designed to nurture your wellbeing and personal development.

About the Finance Assistant role

Working as part of our small friendly finance team you’ll be responsible for processing supplier invoices, managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders and good receipt notes to ensure all invoices have a receipted purchase order, and invoices are paid in accordance to the payment terms. You’ll support with sales ledger tasks ensuring that sales invoices are raised and cash collected. You’ll have the opportunity to build effective relationships on the phone and via email with customers, suppliers and face to face with people at Pukka.

About you

You’ll have a degree, ideally within a financial related subject, and have experience working within a Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger function. You’ll have good numeracy skills and written skills with a high level of attention to detail and a passion for accuracy. Confident communication skills are needed as well as resilience when speaking to suppliers.

Comfortable using Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook, you’ll also enjoy using databases day-to-day. You’ll understand the importance of working to deadlines, and have experience and the ability to prioritise your workload effectively. You will be committed to your own continuous personal development, be a team player and enjoy problem solving. You’ll be able to deal with and adapt to change, and enjoy working in an environment that is fast-paced.
