Fundraiser based in Oswestry, Shropshire offering a salary of £19,780 (£24,726 FTE). This is a permanent post working four days a week.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fundraiser to grow and manage the College’s charity income and donations. 

The role of Fundraiser : 

  • Implement and manage the fundraising strategy.
  • Identify new funding opportunities
  • Meet fundraising targets
  • Prepare and submit well-written, well-researched, compelling and complete funding applications
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to organisations, businesses, funding bodies and community groups.
  • Oversee fundraising events and campaigns
  • Manage day to day fundraising activity to include; a timetable of funders to ensure    deadlines are met / balanced work flow, donation tracking of acquired funding, pending applications, and prospective income and reporting
  • Ensure that associated contractual and reporting obligations are met.
  • Support ongoing donor relationships
  • Work with colleagues to gain an understanding of Derwen College’s priorities and projects to ensure knowledge is up to date
  • Occasionally work outside normal working hours to attend meetings, fundraising events and presentations and any other occasion when professional attendance is required
  • To act as a brand ambassador for the college at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate protocols for data management in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act

The ideal Fundraiser:

  • Knowledge and experience of fundraising, including trusts and foundations
  • Proven success of working in a similar role
  • Understand the legislative and regulatory framework for fundraising and sector related best practice.
  • An effective communicator who is confident in giving presentations to a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Working knowledge of donor and supporter contact management, including use of a CRM or donor database
  • Ability to carry out research, using findings for planning purposes
  • Ability to draft complex trust and foundation applications and produce accurate financial supporting documents
  • Highly developed written skills with proven ability to write a range of materials
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadline
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competent in MS Office
  • A good a team player with outstanding communication skills with individuals/staff at all levels
  • Tenacious and results driven
  • Highly motivated
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work proactively using own initiative
