EDP delivers Hot Foot Enterprises at HMP Dartmoor using a social enterprise model as a vehicle for substance misuse recovery. As part of this programme we are seeking a person to supervise the manufacturing of products. We are looking for someone who is passionate about quality products and believes in enabling people to use and develop their skills to transform their lives.
Production Facilitator and Trainer (Social Enterprise)
Based: HMP Dartmoor
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £21,500 per annum
Contract: Fixed Term for 1 year
For Internal candidates a Secondment opportunity will be considered for 1 year
The job holder will provide supervision, knowledge and skills to prisoners so they can make high quality furniture from recycled wood (for retail sales) and improve their work prospects on release. They will raise awareness of social enterprise as a vehicle for recovery from substance misuse. The successful candidate will have confidence in delivering accredited training sessions and administrating the completion of learner portfolios in order to support the learning and development of participants from within the prison community. They will also ensure services are provided to a high standard and that security and control are maintained at all times.
We are looking for someone who is able to treat prisoners with respect and dignity at all times and who can model pro-social behaviour. They will have experience in woodwork/carpentry and related machinery and equipment, be able to manage a workshop environment and ideally have experience of working with offenders, substance misusers or similar groups. Additional experience of design and marketing and of working in the prison environment would be beneficial.
