Premier and Wealth (P&W) Risk Manager,

The Primary Purpose of this Role.

Role holders will carry out activities that will include most of the following:
  • Directly influence the operational effectiveness of the functional/functional unit.
  • Co-ordinate and manage projects. Typically, works on large, moderately complex projects/assignments.
  • Support decisions through advice, counsel or services in area of specialisation.
  • Accountable for delivery against prescribed targets, budgets and resourcing and responsible for volume, quality, and timeliness of end results.
  • Adhere to and actively support established policies and procedures in own team.
  • Support change initiatives and embed change initiatives within own team.


The Top Priorities that the role has responsibility for.
  • Ensuring effective P&W operational risk reporting is in place to meet Risk Team, Governance forums and Senior Mg requirements (including Premier and Wealth Oversight Committee). This includes driving efficient reporting across the different legal entities as well as for P&W as a whole.
  • Supporting key operational risk activities such as Trigger Event Reviews, root cause analysis and Risk Control Assessment (RCA) refreshes.
  • Co-ordination / management of projects to improve effectiveness of P&W Operational Risk management (eg thematic reviews across P&W; including liaison with other relevant areas of the business).
  • Responsibility for managing the administration required to support the monthly Risk Forum meeting.
  • Manage or support ad hoc investigations, reviews or requests for information as required.

Qualifications

Preferable Requirements for role.
  • Knowledge of the following products: Insurance, Investments, Wealth products, Premier.
  • Experience of working with the following environments: Investments, Wealth Management, Risk & Regulatory.
  • Experience of working in the following markets: Wealth & Insurance.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of operational risk management ideally in a financial services environment





The base location for the role is 120 Edmund Street, Birmingham.



We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
