SQL DBA (Database Administrator), Brighton, Financial Services

An experienced SQL DBA is required by a leading Financial Services organisation in the Brighton area to join their existing team working with external suppliers and internal departments to build and maintain a fit for purpose environment to support the business.

As a SQL DBA you will be a key member of the infrastructure team and will oversee the development and organisation of databases, and implementation of new technologies. You will be involved in the assessment of technologies and will be looked to to provide a long-term view on the relationship of database technology to the business challenges facing the company.

The DBA will work with architects, applications development, and external partners to provide a state-of-the-art environment. Personable and a good communicator, you must be seen as approachable and be able to deal with non-IT people of all levels. You will also be comfortable working with Infrastructure and Security to anticipate and solve SQL database issues.

Experience needed by the DBA:

• Significant experience of implementing SQL Infrastructure projects in a Financial Services environment
• Design, Build, Test, Implement, Support SQL solutions
• Windows Server 2003 & Server 2008
• VMWare 5.X
• Citrix

Ideally the DBA will also have ITIL accreditation
