A vacancy has arisen within Servest's lively in-house Time & Attendance team. We are seeking a highly effective Administrator with excellent communication and customer service skills, high levels of attention to detail coupled with strong IT skills.

Based at our Head Office in Bury St Edmunds, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all necessary information is processed to ensure with the accurate production of time and attendance data. Working collaboratively with our on-site Payroll teams and our off-site, field based operations teams, you will be responsible for undertaking initial Right to Work checks, creating up New Starter records and inputting employee and attendance data as part of the wider payroll process.

The nature of the role calls for high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in order to ensure that all data entry is of a high standard and that any errors or omissions are identified and rectified in a timely manner to ensure staff hours are logged correctly.

To be successful in this role, a good level of general IT literacy is required. Of particular interest are candidates with a reasonable level of Excel as there is a requirement for collating, sorting and processing data in spreadsheets. Whilst candidates with a familiarity of Excel would find this knowledge particularly helpful, it is not essential as full training will be given.

We are looking for pro-active individuals who are able to work effectively as part of a small team and who can work with initiative. We need an effective communicator with an outstanding telephone manner who has a good appreciation of customer service and ‘going the extra mile'.

Primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  1. Processing data to ensure the accurate logging of staff attendance information
  2. Answering incoming queries via telephone and e-mail
  3. Checking New Starter Right to Work documentation
  4. Creating New Starter records on the Ezi-Tracker time & attendance system
  5. Collating, manipulating and processing staff attendance data in Excel
  6. Running reports, as required
  7. Working closely with our on-site Payroll department and our off-site, field-based Operations teams to ensure accuracy of information and timely delivery of Payroll data

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  1. Excellent communication skills – Confidence to deal with in-bound telephone queries is essential
  2. Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, Word)
  3. A pro-active approach to work and a positive, 'can-do' attitude
  4. Strong personal integrity with an appreciation of Data Protection best practice
  5. Excellent attention to detail, the ability to process data accurately and efficiently
  6. The ability to work independently and with initiative balanced with a ‘team Player' approach
  7. Flexibility to be able to provide additional support in-line with Payroll deadlines
  8. 4 GCSE's or equivalent, at grade C or above, including English and Maths
  9. An understanding of Payroll principles would be desirable but is not essential

The Attendance Administration team deliver outstanding support to our business and customers throughout the week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 07:00-18:00. You will be required to work shifts within these times. Given the location of our offices, you would benefit from having access to your own transport.
