The role of the public area cleaner is to take pride in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the public areas within the hotel. This includes stairs passageways, restrooms and lounge spaces. Duties of the role are vacuuming, dusting, polishing and sanitising using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Emptying waste containers and inspecting the condition of furniture, reporting damages such as tears, rips, and stains. Post caution signs to limit access when necessary such as wet floor signs. Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
