We have a great new vacancy for an experienced Support Worker in the Keynsham area, supporting a lovely lady, S, with learning disabilities in her own flat.
First and foremost, you will need to be a fellow cat lover, as Norton (Ss cat) is her world! You will also need to be an active person to keep up with S, as she loves getting out and about; going to the gym, going to Bath and Bristol on the bus, and live music events.
Part of your support will involve helping S to gain more confidence to enable her to take the bus to her favourite places by herself.
S also has a car which you will drive for her to ensure she is able to keep up her busy and varied timetable!
There is no personal care involved in this role, although you may need to prompt and supervise whilst S takes her medication. S would like to be supported by confident people, as she can experience quite high anxiety levels and needs a lot of reassurance.
This role can be contracted at 16 or 30 hours per week. Shifts can vary between earlies, lates and long days, depending on what Ss plans are for the week, but generally between the hours of 8am - 10pm. You will also provide sleep in support once a week.
Pay rate is GBP8.30 per hour, plus GBP29.95 per sleep and a sleep-in top up if appropriate. Benefits include:
