Health, Safety & Environment Manager

Salary: £30,000 Stainless Restoration Ltd are a forward looking company who specialise in all aspects of metal finishing which includes chemical cleaning and paint spraying.

Based in Hyde, South Manchester, we are offering an opportunity to join a company who is willing to provide an environment in which he or she (candidate) can grow and exercise his/her skills.

Responsibilities Reporting to Managing Director, the HS&E Manager will be responsible for:

· Designing and implementing HSE policy, procedures and practices, to ensure compliance with legal obligations.

· Carrying out specific and general Risk Assessments

· Monitoring legal developments and advising management on HS&E matters.

· Designing, developing & delivering In-House HS&E Training Brief

The main activities will include:

· Management of the Permit to Work system

· Design and delivery of Toolbox Talks

· Design and delivery of specific in-house training (FLT/Gantry Cranes etc.)

· Management of PPE controls

· General Risk Assessment programme.

· Specific Risk Assessment (COSHH, Manual Handling, Noise etc.)

· Accident and Incident investigation

· Involvement in Occupational Health Surveillance programme

· Management of LEV Testing

· Developing and reviewing HS&E policy in light of legal change and the growing needs of the business.

· Development of the chemical inventory programme.

· Management of the consent to discharge and emissions to atmosphere registrations.

· Management of environmental waste controls, permitting and disposal requirements.

· Management of visiting contractor controls Requirements

The main requirements for the post are:

· Proven experience as a HS&E Manager, preferably in an engineering or chemical production environment.

· Deep understanding of current UK Health, Safety and Environmental law.

· NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and coach all levels of employee.

· Proven experience in the delivery of training & presentations in-house.

· Ability to produce timely, accurate and meaningful reports.

· Exposure to ISO:18001/14001/9001 is desirable but not essential.

· Good IT skills, with knowledge of simple data analysis and presentation.

· Problem solving with an open minded approach

Job Type: Full-time Salary: £30,000.00 /year
