This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Legal Secretary, ideally with Property experience. 

 

Providing crucial secretarial and administrative support to the Conveyancing department you will be utilising all your skills within this busy role.  Able to produce large volumes of work quickly and accurately and often to deadlines, you will be confident prioritising your workload whilst demonstrating excellent time management and attention to detail.

 

Friendly and approachable, you will be a team player with a solid Legal Secretarial background.  Highly organised, motivated and flexible you will need excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience of using digital dictation, diary management and responding to routine client enquiries.

Job Summary:

To provide secretarial support to fee earners in the practice.

Key Tasks

  • Audio and some copy typing to fee earners’ specification
  • Management of the files under the fee earner’s direction from opening files to preparing them for archiving
  • Preparing documents/reports as required by Fee Earners 
  • Liaising with clients and other parties on behalf of fee earners and dealing wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications 
  • Filing, photocopying, collating of documents and other clerical duties
  • Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm
  • Making appointments, arranging meetings and maintaining an up to date diary
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of all the firm's client's documentation and information 
  • Providing secretarial support to other areas of the office as necessary 

Key Skills - Essential

  • Typing skills of 65 wpm
  • Good keyboard skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Literate and numerate
  • Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of the team
  • Ability to deal with enquiries in a professional, friendly and effective manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work as a member of a team



You will ideally have previous experience within a similar property role and an up to date understanding of the residential property conveyancing process in order to be able to hit the ground running.
