The School

The Role
To start as soon as possible Gordano School is seeking a competent, responsible Maintenance and Compliance Technician, to join a dynamic Site and Facilities team and report to the Facilities Manager. You will be self-motivated, well planned and organised and be prepared to work under lone working conditions. You also need to be able to prioritise your time effectively and show a willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety where appropriate
Your responsibilities will cover Maintenance, Health and Safety and Compliance and duties will include:
- Carrying out Health and Safety compliance checks, PAT testing of equipment and risk assessments
- Overseeing the work of external contractors to ensure compliance with school Health & Safety policies
- Carrying out inspections on the astro-pitch, fire safety equipment and asbestos
- Managing the operation of the school mechanical and electrical systems
- Undertaking regular inspections of the site, buildings, fixtures, fittings, furniture to assess for minor work or repairs
- Unlocking the school and carrying out security checks on the building
- Porterage and general litter picking to maintain the site appearance
- Organising and carrying out various maintenance duties competently across the school
- Driving the school minibus when required for service and delivery of resources
Previous experience would be beneficial but training will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to act as a key holder. The hours of work will be flexible but between Monday to Friday 6.30am – 8.30pm.
Actual Post Information:
1. This role involves physical work around the school and all applicants must be physically fit to perform all duties as outlined in the Job Description.
2. The Shift pattern reflects 2 week : 2 week rota on the following hours:
week 1: 6.00am to 2.30pm
week 2: 10am to 6.30pm
