Knightstone Housing is a leading housing association in Somerset and the West of England, building vibrant, stable and safe communities where people can make their homes. We provide services to over 23,000 people in 11,000 homes.

We employ 400 staff who are either field, scheme or office based – office staff are based at our office on Weston Gateway Business Park, Worle.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer, for a period of 12 months, to run our monthly payroll process and ensure all staff get paid accurately and on time.

In this key role you will manage the monthly payroll cycle and audit the input of the HR and payroll team. Other duties will include running reports and arranging authorisation of all appropriate payroll transactions, you will also ensure the BACS files are created and processed in line with internal procedures.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn, get up to speed quickly, a keen eye for detail and will possess strong organisational skills. Experience of leading payroll processes is essential. You’ll be administering the association’s pension schemes through the payroll so experience of processing pensions and pension auto enrolment is required. As well as being process driven, you will have excellent IT skills, specifically in payroll software and excel. It would be beneficial if you had knowledge and understanding of the iTrent HR & Payroll software and a payroll qualification would be preferred but not essential.

It is a part time position operating 20 hours per week and the successful post holder will have to work flexibly within those hours in order to ensure that all payroll deadlines are met.
