Barristers’ Clerk – 9 Park Place Chambers, Cardiff.

Permanent contract

40 hour week

Salary between £25,000-£30,000

9 Park Place Chambers has been established for seventy years in central Cardiff and is a dynamic mixed set of civil, criminal and family law specialist barristers. We are regarded as a leading set by Chambers UK and The Legal 500 which nominated us for its Regional Chambers of the Year award in 2017.

Due to an increase in instructions we are now looking for a new clerk to assist the Family Team Clerk and the Senior Clerk with a view to providing a dedicated clerking resource to the family team, chambers and our professional clients based across the UK.

Attributes And Skills required: You will need to be able to demonstrate your experience, gained in a current or recent role, ideally within a demanding professional services environment or similar. The role will require a candidate who has a mature approach to problem-solving, excellent negotiation and communication skills, efficient and effective diary and time-management, accuracy, sound judgment, patience and enthusiasm.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Diary and Case Management for members of  the family team;
• Fees work – negotiating, knowledge of our billing systems and recording fees for work done for the Family Team;
• Assisting with all aspects of Practice Management for the Family Team and ad hoc assistance to the Senior Clerk as required.
