A thriving reactive property maintenance company are seeking an experienced Gas & Heating Engineer to assist in covering reactive maintenance and planned work, for both residential and commercial properties in London and the surrounding areas.

The Gas & Heating Engineer role is a full-time, self-employed position, with the opportunity to earn more through assisting our 24 hour OOH call out service.

All field engineers benefit from the support of a service desk team, who coordinate appointments, mediate issues and are on call to assist with jobs.

The successful Gas & Heating Engineer will be self-employed, working exclusively for the company.

A branded vehicle and uniform are provided.

The Gas & Heating Engineer role will involve carrying out all aspects of installations and maintenance at residential and commercial properties. Tasks undertaken will include plumbing, gas and heating/boiler repairs, maintenance services, new installations, emergency call outs and Landlord’s Gas Safety certificates.

Although not essential, ideally all candidates should have undertaken a Gas apprenticeship.

Salary dependant on knowledge & experience.

Essential - Skills / Requirements

• Gas SAFE Registered, with all up-to-date tickets and qualifications
• Similar experience of working within the domestic and commercial maintenance fields
• Installation of boilers and gas appliances
• Full UK Drivers Licence
• You must be able to manage each case to completion
• Effective fault finding, problem-solving & organisational skills
• Able to work well as part of a team
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and not react adversely to tenants or clients
• Excellent command of the English language written & verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work on their own initiative
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills & telephone manner
• Organisational and timekeeping skills
• Ability to evaluate Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Experience of quoting for works (e.g. boiler installations)
