Job Role: Stainless Steel Fabricator / Welder
Location: Midsomer Norton
THE COMPANY
Offering comprehensive in-house design, manufacture and installation services; Bridges Electrical Engineers Ltd., is a trusted high performance and multi-disciplined MEICA engineering technology company with an established and long-term client base. Today we work with a broad range of commercial and industrial clients in the water treatment, quarrying, nuclear and waste recycling sectors.
We are currently recruiting for a Lead Stainless-Steel Fabricator / Welder to work in our small self-contained fabrication workshop as part of the wider Mechanical Engineering department, to lead the production of stainless steel components and pipework.
THE ROLE
The role will require fabricating and welding small stainless steel structures, supports, bracketry and different diameters and schedules of pipes up to 600mm within a fabrication workshop and will include the following duties:
•Plan, assemble, position and weld stainless steel structures and supports, applying knowledge and experience in welding techniques.
•Weld materials to piping systems equipment using the appropriate welding procedure for the various equipment and metal types involved.
•Identify all equipment and tooling needed for the job or process.
•Identify all safety risks and requirements
There would also be a less frequent need to support our site installation teams where site based welding or fabrication is required and your specialist skills are needed.
As a small workshop there is a need for you to enjoy working with the wider mechanical team to help deliver components needed on time and to a high standard.
THE CANDIDATE
•Experience as a stainless-steel welder
•Experience using MIG, TIG and Stick welding
•Experience in pipe welding diameters between 25mm - 600mm, thin wall metric to SCH40.
•Understanding of purging and other good pipe welding practices.
•Experience in manufacturing general pipe supports and brackets
•Well organised in keeping paper work up together and booking out materials
•Confident to work alone and able to work in a team.
